Geschichte und Abgrenzung
Ein Dubletten-Verdacht gegen das Piemonteser Bild ist geprüft und verworfen. Anlass war das IPCS-Merkblatt 63, das für ein Muster die Namen „Dauphiné pattern“ und „Piedmont pattern“ nennt. Nach dem fachlichen Urteil von Marc Flöter (20. September 2026) sind die beiden Bilder deutlich unterscheidbar: Das Piemonteser Bild ist ein Abkömmling oder eine Variante des späten Pariser Bildes bzw. des Portrait officiel, waagerecht statt schräg gespiegelt. Sylvia Mann führt beide getrennt (Kat. 168–170 und Kat. 151) und stellt das Piemonteser Bild in die Familie des Pariser Bildes.
